Babe Ruth Boundary InfoUpdated Sunday December 16, 2018 by Matthew Love.
Germantown Baseball is sanctioned by Babe Ruth/Cal Ripen League which assigns zip code boundaries to each affiliate league. In order to fully participate at Germantown within the Babe Ruth/Cal Crispin all-star post-season tournament series, the player must reside within the zip codes. Zip Codes assigned to Germantown are as follows:
40202, 40203, 40204, 40205, 40206, 40207(Softball Only), 40208, 40210, 40212, 40213, 40214, 40215, 40217, 40218, 40216 East of Dixie Hwy, 40219 North of Outer Loop
Families that live outside the boundaries that choose to play at Germantown do so knowing that their child will be ineligible to play for Germantown All-Stars.
Players transferring from one Babe Ruth/Cal Ripen league to another are subject to their Transfer Rules. In a nutshell, if a player transfers to another league as a first year in any age division (Ex: 7 year old in the 7-8 Division)and as long as they meet the zip code requirements, they will be eligible to play all-stars. If a player transfers within their second year in their division (Ex: 8 year old in the 7-8 Division), the player must sit out that year of all-stars.
For 5-12 baseball, if the physical location of the school where a player attends classes during the traditional academic year is within the boundaries of an established league, the player is permitted to participate in the established league. (Note: This excludes home schools, cyber schools, sports-related schools, sports academies, or after school where a student participates outside of the primary school in which the player is enrolled.) Once a player selects to participate in a league where the player is eligible, the player must finish the current season in the same league under the school boundary rule.
For 13-18 baseball, there is no boundary rule except must reside in Jefferson County. Please see Babe Ruth for the full clarification of this rule
For 14U & 16U softball, there is no boundary rule. Please see Babe Ruth for the full clarification of this rule
Players and their parents/guardians are advised that a false statement of residence or school attendance may lead to ineligibility to participate in Cal Ripen Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball or Babe Ruth Softball. Any league who fails to comply with the “Geographical Boundaries and School Attendance Player Eligibility Requirements” may result in the disqualification of a player, team from regular season and/or tournament play.
